Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Bronx, NY. Field-based role focused on executing brand strategy and tactics, managing the assigned territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance with patient-centered efforts and compliance with all laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed stated goals.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Aspire to serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, and product knowledge with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or related field preferred; or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of a degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; develop sales strategies from findings.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; influential and credible resource among peers; demonstrated leadership in roles with increasing responsibility.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency in speaking and writing.
- Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities and organizations in the territory; maintain good standing/eligibility for credentials.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; maintain safe driving requirements.
