Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Psychiatry – Albuquerque, NM/Santa Fe, NM. This field-based role executes brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of AbbVie’s efforts while complying with all laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed defined goals.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive calls to action to close on sales calls.
- Aim to serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements with customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales insights to align with field teams and brand leadership.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Operate with a valid driver’s license and be able to drive as part of routine responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent experience required.
- At least five years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Ability to identify customer styles and adapt selling approach; develop sales strategies from insights.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; strong influencing and collaborative skills.
- Proven leadership and coaching experience; track record of increasing responsibilities at district/region levels.
- Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency.
- Must satisfy health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements; may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses. Must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; safe driving requirements.
