This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships; solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance; place the patient at the center of efforts; operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; execute post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share market intelligence to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; OR relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: 5+ years relevant experience required; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Leadership success; solid presentation skills; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient business tools.
- Adaptability to customer style/behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; English proficiency for non-English speaking countries.
- Satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and remain in good standing/eligible.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
