This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance/brand KPIs/financial targets/marketing objectives; meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing customer needs and achieving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share insights to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ industry experience, with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven sales success, presentation skills, ability to operate in a matrix environment; leadership and peer coaching.
- Preferred: therapeutic-area sales success; experience in physician/account-based selling, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (where applicable).
- Essential: satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities; be in good standing/eligible.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
