Job Description
This is a field-based role. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call objectives and execute post-call evaluation to improve sales performance; handle objections and consistently drive logical calls to action to close.
- Proactively understand and address customer needs, building trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments, disease/product/clinical knowledge) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; otherwise at least 5 years relevant industry experience (3+ years preferred) and a high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership success, strong presentation skills, business acumen, and strategic/critical thinking; strong use of business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; works effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbally and in writing for non-English speaking countries).
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned territory; responsible for meeting requirements.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
