Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Migraine – Pasadena, CA. Field-based role requiring residence within reasonable distance to the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by serving customer needs and achieving win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, and product knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience required.
- Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a degree, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership, strong presentation skills, business acumen, and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking locations.
- Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Driving a personal auto or company vehicle; valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; safe driving requirements.
