Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Migraine - Morgantown, WV. Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on every sales call.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of industry experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Proven leadership, strong presentation skills, business acumen, and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Preferred: Proven track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas.
  • Preferred: Commercial pharmaceutical experiences such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing.
  • Preferred: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
  • Preferred: English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
  • Driving a personal auto or company car, or a powered piece of material handling equipment; valid driver’s license and safe driving ability.
  • HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.

Education

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements.
  • HCIR credentialing requirements (including background checks, potential immunizations, fingerprinting, licenses) to access facilities in the territory; responsible for satisfying all requirements.
