Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Migraine - Hawaii. Field-based role; candidate should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and resolve customer needs to maximize short and long term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
- Aspire to serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements with customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of bachelor’s degree, with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities
- Identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach; develops sales strategies from findings
- Proven track record of selling success and strong presentation skills; effective in a matrix environment; demonstrates innovative ideas to maximize opportunities
- Influences others and fosters collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team
- Leads by example with positive behaviors; prior leadership/support roles at district/region/organizational levels
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing
- English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking contexts
- Must satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to enter facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
- HCIR credentials may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and licenses; responsible for satisfying all requirements
- Driving a personal auto or company car; valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
