Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Migraine - Belleville, IL. Field-based role with placement within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Hires at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships with a patient-centered approach.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed set goals.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continually improve sales performance; handle objections and drive action to close sales calls.
- Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease states, products, clinical and sales insights with in-field teams and brand/team leadership to optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent experience; high school diploma/GED required with at least five years of industry experience if no bachelor’s degree.
- Three or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
- Proven leadership, solid presentation skills, strong business acumen, and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: track record of sales success in the relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities in the assigned territory; responsible for maintaining credentials.
- Driving a personal auto or company vehicle; valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
