This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluation to improve performance. Handle objections and consistently drive to logical calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs/expectations to build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, products, and clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field/brand/sales leadership.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven sales success; strong presentation skills; innovative problem-solving and ability to develop sales strategies.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to influence and coach; leadership with increased responsibility.
- Preferred: sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license; pass drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Travel as needed for territory coverage and overnight events.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for facility access.
