Role Summary
Field-based Specialty Representative, HCV responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing the assigned territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long term sales performance. Role requires placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations. Territory includes Orlando, Tampa, Lakeland, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continually improve sales performance; handle objections and push for logical calls to action to close on every sales call.
- Aim to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory dynamics, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- Required: Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree is at least five (5) years, with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- Required: Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach accordingly.
- Required: Proven track record of success in selling and strong presentation skills; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities and develops sales strategies from findings.
- Required: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
- Required: Influences others, builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team; leads by example and coaches peers through changing environments.
- Required: Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels.
- Preferred: Proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; prior pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Preferred: English language proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking regions.
- Required: Satisfy all health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Required: Compliance with HCIR credentialing processes, including background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; ensure all requirements are satisfied and responsible for related liabilities.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
Additional Requirements
- HCIR credentialing requirements must be satisfied to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations within the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses may be required; applicant is responsible for satisfying all requirements.
