Role Summary

Field-based Specialty Representative, HCV, responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, driving sales performance, and effectively managing an assigned territory and targeted accounts. Build strong customer relationships, solve customer needs, and place the patient at the center of AbbVie’s efforts while operating within all relevant policies and laws. Territory includes Orlando, Tampa, Lakeland, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory dynamics, competitors, and market segments; share insights with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/develop disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or a business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience; high school diploma/GED required with at least five years of relevant industry experience if no bachelor’s. Three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
  • Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach quickly.
  • Proven track record of success in selling with strong presentation skills; offers innovative ideas to maximize business opportunities.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking.
  • Influences others and is a credible, respected resource; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; leads by example.
  • Documented success in leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels.
  • Preferred: Sales success within respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English-speaking countries).
  • An essential requirement is to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; you must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; you are responsible for meeting all requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required; high school diploma/GED required with at least five years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Additional Requirements

  • HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and licenses; responsible for obtaining and maintaining these credentials.
