Role Summary

Specialty Representative for GIC in Salt Lake City, UT. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and evaluate post-call results to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements with customers.
  • Develop and execute call plans that achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, and disease/product knowledge; share insights with in-field team and brand/sales management to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience required.
  • At least five years of industry experience if no bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach accordingly.
  • Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Influences others and is seen as a credible role model; builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; shows positive behaviors and coaching abilities.
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels.
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency in writing and speaking.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and maintain eligibility; responsible for compliance with credentialing requirements.

Education
