This role is field-based. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts and complying with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve. Handle objections and concerns and secure appropriate next steps to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics; optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
- Understand customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, and disease/product/clinical and sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proactively adapts selling approach based on customer style/behavior.
- Demonstrated scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
- Influences others; credible peer role model; collaborative partnership; peer coaching.
- Documented success with increasing responsibility at district/region/org levels.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking countries.
- Valid driver’s license; meet safe driving requirements; may drive personal or company vehicle or powered equipment.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements (background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, required licenses) to access assigned facilities; candidate is responsible for meeting requirements.
