Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create SMART pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and consistently gain logical and reasonable calls to action.
- Serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans that meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence to align strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry (3+ years preferred) plus high school diploma/GED.
- Strong selling/presentation skills; proven success; innovative ideas; strategic and critical thinking.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to travel to cover territory and attend training/sales meetings; drive personal or company vehicle.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities in the assigned territory.
