Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Sacramento, CA. Field-based role covering Sacramento and surrounding areas; responsible for executing brand strategy, achieving sales performance, managing territory and targeted accounts, building customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales while adhering to policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those targets.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gain and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales insights with in-field teams and brand/sales management to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiates AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- Five years of industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with at least three years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style/behavior and respond to changes.
- Influences others and is viewed as a credible role model; builds collaboration with district colleagues and matrix teams; demonstrates positive leadership and coaching.
- Demonstrated leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: Proven sales success in therapeutics; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency in writing and speaking.
- Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations in the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive personal or company vehicle.
