Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Raleigh, NC. Field-based role servicing Raleigh and surrounding areas. Role is aligned with AbbVie’s medical strategy and ethics, focusing on delivering brand strategy, building patient-centered care, and achieving sales objectives within regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and move calls to action to close.
  • Build trusted customer relationships, understand customer needs, and strive for win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to maximize access and sales opportunities through optimized coverage and frequency with key customers.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and product knowledge with in-field teams and brand team to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie‚Äôs value proposition and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience; proven track record in selling and presentation skills. Five years of relevant experience with three years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required if no bachelor‚Äôs degree.
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Proven sales success, ability to generate innovative ideas, and adapt selling approaches to customer style.
  • Ability to influence others and collaborate with district colleagues and matrix teams.
  • Preferred: GI experience or selling to Gastroenterologists; experience in therapy-area sales; commercial pharmaceutical exposure (physician/account based selling, training, managed care, marketing).
  • Preferred: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities; ensure good standing or eligibility for credentials; background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, licenses as required by state/city.
  • Valid driver‚Äôs license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive personal or company vehicle.
