Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Raleigh E, NC. Field-based role serving assigned territory, focused on executing brand strategy and driving sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts. Location-based considerations apply; territory includes multiple geographic areas as specified.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive actions to close calls.
- Proactively address customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory dynamics, competitors, and disease/therapy areas with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, business, or equivalent industry experience; or five years of relevant experience with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required if applicable.
- In-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking.
- Proven track record in sales and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer styles and respond to changes.
- Influences others; credible and respected, with strong collaboration across districts and matrix teams; leadership and stakeholder management experience preferred.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; pharma industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing.
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing (if applicable).
- Must satisfy health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities and organizations in the territory; must maintain credentials and stay in good standing.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive personal or company vehicle.
