Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology in Hattiesburg, MS. This field-based role covers Jackson, Hattiesburg, Laurel and Mobile AL and surrounding areas. The role executes brand strategy and tactics in the field, manages territory and targets accounts, builds strong customer relationships, and centers patient needs while operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand plan stakeholders.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field.
- Required: Five (5) years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource; strong business acumen; capable of operating effectively in a matrix environment.
- Required: Proven track record of success in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; anticipates and responds to changes.
- Required: Influences others; credible and respected role model; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team; leads by example.
- Required: Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: Proven track record of sales success within therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Required: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations within the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Required: Compliance with HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and licenses; you are responsible for satisfying all requirements.
