Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Denver North, CO. Field-based role covering Denver, Fort Collins, Loveland, Boulder, surrounding areas, and all of Wyoming. Hires at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease states, products, and sales insights with in-field team and brand management to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience required.
- Five years of industry experience (three or more in pharmaceutical/health/science) preferred; high school diploma/GED required if no bachelor’s degree.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes.
- Influences others and builds collaborative partnerships; demonstrates leadership and peer coaching in changing environments.
- Documented leadership and increased responsible roles at district/region levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: success in sales within respective therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency.
- Must satisfy all health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities in the assigned territory and maintain good standing or eligibility for credentials.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; drive personal or company vehicle.
