Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create SMART pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve; handle objections and close calls to action.
- Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, and disease/product/clinical expertise; share intelligence with field/brand team/sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred OR equivalent industry experience required (5+ years; 3+ years in pharma/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; adapt selling approach; provide innovative solutions.
- Ability to influence others; credible role model; collaborative partnership; peer coaching.
- Documented leadership success with increased district/region/org responsibility; leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: therapeutic-area sales success; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency (verbal/written).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and be eligible/good standing for entry into facilities; may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; expert resource; strong business acumen and tools; strategic/critical thinking; effective in matrix environment.
- Ability to drive (personal or company vehicle or powered equipment); valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
