Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Brooklyn, NY. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships to maximize short and long-term sales while placing the patient at the center and adhering to all laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand team to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiates AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience required.
- Equivalent industry experience: at least five (5) years with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking; innovative problem-solving.
- Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes; credible and respected among peers.
- Leadership experience in district/region roles; ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: experience in sales within therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive personal or company vehicle.
