Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Dermatology (Sarasota, FL). This role is field-based and requires residence within a reasonable distance from the primary city. The geography covers Sarasota to Naples. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute call plans that achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and market dynamics; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiates AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
- Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer styles and offer innovative solutions to maximize opportunities.
- Influences others, is a credible role model, and builds collaborative partnerships; demonstrates positive behaviors and coaching in changing environments.
- Documented leadership experience at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: track record in sales within therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking regions.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations in the territory; maintain good standing or eligibility for credentials.
- Demonstrates strong scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; possesses business acumen and strategic thinking; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen; ability to drive personal vehicle or company car.
