Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Dermatology - Los Angeles, CA. Field-based role covering Los Angeles, Hawthorne, Redondo Beach, Downey, Orange, and surrounding areas. Responsible for executing brand strategy, managing territory and accounts, and delivering sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute call plans to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and disease/product knowledge with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and develop disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • At least five years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and ability to operate in a matrix environment
  • Proven sales track record and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes
  • Influences others and demonstrates credible, collaborative leadership; positive behavior in changing environments
  • History of increased responsibility at district/region levels and ability to translate findings into sales strategies
  • Preferred: proven sales success in the therapeutic area; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and maintain good standing to access facilities in the territory

Education

  • HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities; good standing or eligibility to obtain credentials
  • Background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as applicable
