Role Summary

This is a field-based Specialty Dermatology Sales Representative role covering Las Vegas, Henderson, and surrounding areas. You will execute brand strategy and tactics, drive sales performance, and manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts. You will build strong customer relationships, solve customer needs, and place the patient at the center of AbbVie’s efforts while complying with all laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc., to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on every sales call.
  • Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments and dynamics, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders. Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; possesses strategic and critical thinking capabilities. Operates effectively in a matrix environment. Offers innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities to address challenges.
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills. Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts quickly; provides impact with ideas for the larger organization and anticipates and responds to changes.
  • Influences others and is viewed as a credible and respected role model and resource among peers. Builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; leads by example and demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching through changing and challenging environments.
  • Documented success in leadership and support roles with increased responsibility at the district, region and/or organizational levels. Understands and leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Proven track record of success in sales within the relevant therapeutic area. Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing) preferred. English language proficiency verbally and in writing.
  • An essential requirement is to satisfy all applicable healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; you must be in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses. You are responsible for ensuring you meet all HCIR requirements.
