Responsibilities:
- Research prospective HCPs to identify customer stakeholders for complex clinical/business product discussions (including Gastroenterologists and professional/patient groups).
- Use consultative selling to educate HCPs and link insights back to Takeda solutions.
- Conduct clinical discussions on patients’ needs; execute brand strategies; maximize sales growth in assigned geography; coach stakeholders and build consensus.
- Collaborate on routing/resource utilization to maximize footprint performance.
- Strategize to solve deal-level challenges.
- Attend company-sponsored sales/medical meetings.
- Pursue learning and professional development (sales, communication, product knowledge).
- Conduct business per regulations/policies with high ethical/professional standards.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device (or relevant clinical/industry experience); OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies and influence decision makers.
- Ability to apply clinical/business expertise and selling skills.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred
- 5+ years relevant selling experience.
- Local marketing strategy execution.
- Business/strategic planning; adaptability to market changes.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Collaboration/team success.
- Injectable/infused IBD product experience.
- Experience managing complex reimbursement issues.
- Biological product launch; experience calling on Gastroenterologists.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to drive/fly; some overnight travel (25–50%).
Training Requirements:
- Must pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams). External hires are non-exempt during training and eligible for overtime during training only; after passing exams, transition to exempt status.
