Job Responsibilities
- Drive product demand in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts as part of the Gastroenterology Specialty Sales Team.
- Research prospective HCPs to identify appropriate customer stakeholders.
- Use consultative selling to present complex clinical and business information and link insights to Takeda solutions.
- Conduct clinical discussions on patients’ needs; execute brand strategies; maximize sales growth in a specific geography; coach stakeholders and build consensus.
- Collaborate on routing and resource utilization to maximize footprint performance.
- Independently and collaboratively strategize to solve deal-level challenges.
- Attend company-sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed.
- Pursue continuous learning and professional development (sales, communication, product knowledge).
- Conduct business in accordance with regulations, policies, and high ethical/professional standards.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling and/or relevant clinical/industry experience OR 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies; develop/apply clinical and business expertise; effective selling skills.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience.
- Local marketing strategy execution; managed care understanding; business/strategic planning.
- Collaboration/team success.
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD products; complex reimbursement issues; biological product launches.
- Experience calling on Gastroenterologists.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to drive/fly to meetings and client sites; some overnight travel (25–50%).
Training Requirements
- Must pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams). External hires are non-exempt during training and eligible for overtime only during training.
Compensation/Benefits
- USA hourly wage range: $63.51–$87.31 (plus potential short-term incentives). Potential eligibility for medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, disability and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well-being benefits, up to 80 hours sick time, and up to 120 hours paid vacation (new hires).
