About the Role
The Dermatology Specialty Business Manager (SBM) drives demand for assigned products through education, educating healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts. Develop and apply business processes that benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Perform clinical selling: deliver clinical value proposition; advance customers across a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate/sponsor clinical education opportunities (e.g., peer-to-peer) for HCPs.
- Manage accounts in Dermatology practices/clinics/outlets and independent physician offices.
- Achieve sales goals and territory metrics; execute brand strategy/tactics within customer segments.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use.
- Deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials; discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies; build customer engagement by identifying/cultivating relationships and educating local decision makers.
- Present complex clinical/business information to Dermatologists and other decision-making groups.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (e.g., budgets, managed markets, medical affairs).
- Follow compliance policies, guidelines, and training.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS.
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Dermatology/Dermatologist calling experience (highly preferred).
- Business/strategic planning; adaptability to market changes.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling to HCPs.
- Dermatologist calling experience.
- Experience managing complex reimbursement issues.
Training Requirements
- Mandatory product training with written/oral exams; during training may be non-exempt and eligible for overtime (no sales incentives). After passing exams, transition to exempt status.
