About the Role
- The Dermatology Specialty Business Manager (SBM) drives demand post-potential regulatory approval through education, educating healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing business opportunities in targeted physician offices, clinics, and hospital accounts specializing in dermatology.
How you will contribute
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver clinical value proposition and move customers through a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education (including peer-to-peer) for HCPs.
- Perform account management within dermatology practices/clinics and independent physician offices.
- Achieve sales goals by delivering product volume and other key territory metrics; execute brand strategy/tactics within the customer segment.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective use of products.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials.
- Execute local marketing strategies; build customer engagement through education of key decision makers.
- Present complex clinical/business information to dermatologists and relevant groups.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
- Follow compliance policies and provide leadership/integrity regarding compliance.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs (BA/BS).
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Dermatology/Dermatologist calling experience highly preferred.
- Business/strategic planning, managed care understanding, strong communication (verbal/influencing/presentation/written), and collaboration.
- Reside within or close to assigned geography.
- Preferred: 5+ years direct selling to HCPs; dermatology calling experience; experience managing/communicating complex reimbursement issues.
Training Requirements
- Must pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams). During training: non-exempt, overtime-eligible only during training; not eligible for sales incentives/production bonuses. Training includes live instruction, independent study, and role play (up to ~8 hours/day, 40 hours/week). After passing exams: transition to exempt status.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts and occasional meetings; 25โ50% overnight travel.
Compensation and Benefits (if applicable)
- Ohio - Virtual. U.S. hourly wage range: $63.51โ$87.31. May be eligible for short-term incentives and listed benefit programs.
