About the Role:
The Dermatology sales force drives demand through education following potential regulatory approval for the assigned product. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) educates healthcare providers and optimizes business opportunities in targeted dermatology physician offices, clinics, and hospital accounts, applying business processes to benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute:
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver the clinical value proposition and advance customers along the brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer education).
- Manage accounts in dermatology practices/clinics/outlets and independent physician offices.
- Achieve territory sales goals and key metrics; execute franchise/company brand strategy for assigned customer segments.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information, approved materials, and medical reprints.
- Execute local marketing strategies; build customer engagement through local relationship development and education.
- Present complex clinical/business information to dermatologists and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop/implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states, treatments, and business environment.
- Strategically manage allocated resources.
- Adhere to compliance policies, guidelines, and training; seek clarification when uncertain.
Minimum requirements:
Required: BA/BS; 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device (or related clinical/industry) OR 2+ years selling experience at Takeda; strong communication and collaboration skills; business/strategic planning; understanding of managed care; reside within/close to assigned geography; valid Driverβs License.
Preferred: 5+ years direct selling to HCPs; experience calling on dermatologists; experience managing complex reimbursement issues.
Travel/Training:
- Drive/fly to accounts; occasional business meetings; 25β50% overnight travel.
- Must pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams). Training may involve up to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week; external hires are non-exempt during training and later transition to exempt status.
Compensation/Benefits (if applicable): U.S. hourly wage range $63.51β$87.31; may include short-term incentives and eligibility for medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, disability/life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and sick time/vacation.
