Responsibilities / How you will contribute:
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver clinical value propositions and advance customers along a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer education).
- Perform account management within dermatology practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Achieve sales goals and objectives in the assigned territory (product volume and key metrics) and execute franchise/company brand strategy for the customer segment.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use; apply clinical and business expertise and selling skills.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages based on accurate clinical information using approved materials; discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies; build customer engagement by identifying/cultivating relationships and educating key local decision makers.
- Present complex clinical and business information to dermatologists and healthcare groups involved in decision-making.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states, treatments, and the business environment.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (e.g., budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office).
- Follow Takeda compliance policies, guidelines, and training; seek clarification when uncertain.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree (BA/BS).
- Required: 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; or 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Experience calling on dermatologists (highly preferred).
- Demonstrated business/strategic planning skills; adaptability to market changes.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong communication (verbal, influencing, presentation, written) and collaboration/team skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling to healthcare professionals in the healthcare/biotech/device/pharma industry and/or relevant clinical/industry experience.
- Experience calling on dermatologists.
- Experience managing/communicating complex reimbursement issues.
Travel:
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts; some overnight travel up to 25β50%.
Training requirements:
- Employment contingent on passing mandatory product training (written and oral exams). External hires are non-exempt during training and eligible for overtime during training only; no sales incentives/production-based bonuses during training. Training includes live instruction, independent study, role play; no more than 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week. After passing exams, transition to exempt status and eligible for overtime no longer; bi-weekly pay and eligible for sales incentives/contests.
