About the Role:
The Dermatology sales force drives demand following potential regulatory approval through education. Responsibilities include educating healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing business opportunities in targeted dermatology physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) develops and applies business processes that benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute:
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver clinical value propositions and advance customers across a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities/programs (e.g., peer-to-peer education) for HCPs.
- Manage Dermatology accounts in practices, clinics/outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Achieve sales goals and territory metrics; execute franchise/company brand strategy and tactics within assigned customer segments.
- Build professional relationships with HCP decision makers, support staff, and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using approved materials and accurate clinical information; discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies; build customer engagement by identifying/cultivating relationships and educating key decision makers.
- Present complex clinical/business information to office/institution-based dermatologists and relevant groups.
- Develop/implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states, treatments, and the business environment.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
- Follow compliance policies, guidelines, and training; seek clarification when uncertain.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelorโs degree (BA/BS)
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling experience (or relevant clinical/industry experience); OR 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda
- Dermatology/Dermatologist calling experience (preferred)
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability
- Understanding of managed care landscape
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills
- Strong collaboration/team success
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling experience to HCPs (pharma/biotech/device/healthcare) and/or relevant clinical/industry experience
- Experience calling on Dermatologists
- Experience managing/communicating complex reimbursement issues
Training Requirements:
- Must pass mandatory product training (written and oral exams).
- During training: non-exempt, eligible for overtime only during training; not eligible for Takeda sales incentives/production-based bonuses. Training includes live instruction, independent study, and role play (up to 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week total).
- After passing exams: transition to exempt status; no overtime eligibility; bi-weekly pay; eligible for sales incentive programs/contests.
