About the Role
The Dermatology sales force drives demand following potential regulatory approval through education. Responsibilities include educating healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing opportunities in targeted dermatology-focused physician offices, clinics, and hospital accounts. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) develops business processes to benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute:
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver clinical value proposition and advance customers through an educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer).
- Manage accounts within dermatology practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Achieve sales goals/territory metrics and execute brand/franchise strategy tactics within the customer segment.
- Build relationships with HCP decision-makers and stakeholders to support safe, effective product use.
- Deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials.
- Execute local marketing strategies and build customer engagement.
- Present complex clinical/business information to dermatologists and relevant healthcare groups.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs.
- Manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
- Adhere to compliance policies, guidelines, and training.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS
- 3+ years successful selling experience (pharma/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience) OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda
- Experience calling on Dermatologists/Dermatology (highly preferred)
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability
- Understanding of managed care
- Strong communication (verbal/influencing/presentation/written) and collaboration
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling to HCPs (pharma/biotech/device/healthcare and/or relevant clinical/industry experience)
- Experience calling on Dermatologists
- Experience managing/communicating complex reimbursement issues
Travel Requirements
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts and occasional meetings; up to 25β50% overnight travel
Training Requirements
- Mandatory product training with written/oral exams; during training may be classified as non-exempt/eligible for overtime only during training period.
- After passing exams, transition to exempt status.
