About the Role
The Dermatology sales force drives demand after potential regulatory approval through education. It educates healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizes business opportunities in targeted dermatology physician offices, clinics, and hospital accounts. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) develops and applies business processes that benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute
- Support account onboarding through education
- Conduct clinical selling; deliver clinical value proposition and advance customers across a brand educational continuum
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff
- Coordinate and support HCP clinical education (e.g., peer-to-peer)
- Perform account management in dermatology practices, clinics, independent physician offices
- Attain sales goals/territory metrics; execute franchise/company brand strategy and tactics
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using approved materials and clinical information; discuss therapeutic strategies
- Execute local marketing strategies; build customer engagement by identifying/cultivating relationships and educating local decision makers
- Present complex clinical/business info to dermatologists and healthcare/professional/patient groups
- Develop/implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states, treatments, and environment
- Strategically manage allocated resources (budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office)
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (BA/BS)
- Required: 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling experience (or relevant clinical/industry experience); OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda
- Experience calling on Dermatologists (highly preferred)
- Strategic planning and business acumen; understanding of managed care
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication
- Collaboration/team success
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography
Preferred
- 5+ years direct selling to HCPs; experience calling on Dermatologists; experience with complex reimbursement issues
Training/Certifications/Travel
- Pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams)
- Valid Driverβs License
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts; up to 25β50% overnight travel
