About the Role
The Dermatology sales force is primarily responsible for driving demand following potential regulatory approval for the assigned product through education. They educate healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimize business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts specializing in Dermatology.
How you will contribute:
- Support account on-boarding through education.
- Perform clinical selling: deliver the clinical value proposition and advance customers across a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities/programs for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer education).
- Conduct account management in Dermatology practices/clinics/outlets and independent physician offices.
- Attain sales goals and objectives in the assigned Territory; execute franchise and brand strategy/tactics.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe and effective product use.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials.
- Execute local marketing strategies to build customer engagement.
- Present complex clinical/business information to Dermatologists and other decision-making audiences.
- Develop and implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, etc.).
- Adhere to compliance policies, guidelines, and training; seek clarification when uncertain.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda
- Dermatology experience (experience calling on Dermatologists highly preferred)
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability
- Understanding of managed care landscape
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling to HCPs in pharma/biotech/device/healthcare
- Experience calling on Dermatologists
- Experience managing/communicating complex reimbursement issues
Training Requirements
- Contingent on passing mandatory product training (written and oral exams); during training: non-exempt status and eligible for overtime; no sales incentive/production-based bonuses.
- After passing exams: transitioned to exempt status; paid bi-weekly; eligible for sales incentives/contests.
