Role Summary
The Specialty Account Specialist - Respiratory is responsible for engaging specialist customers, delivering scientific and clinical knowledge, and developing account-specific strategies to drive growth for a GSK respiratory portfolio. The role requires building cross-functional relationships, understanding reimbursement and distribution landscapes, and delivering education and resources to customers. The territory includes Madison and Milwaukee, WI, with the ideal candidate residing in either city.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
- Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and refer to appropriate resources to support reimbursement and distribution choices, following GSK guidelines and values.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of severe asthma therapeutics.
- Provide product educational programs and in-services to customers.
- Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values.
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Develop and implement customer-specific strategies within accounts (e.g., Allergists, Pulmonologists, nurses, PAs, office managers).
- Foster strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations, Medical (MSLs), and other GSK functions.
- Manage allocated resources effectively (e.g., financial).
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customer requests and inquiries.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree.
- Required: Ability to travel domestically as necessary (up to 30% overnight in some territories).
- Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to drive or operate a vehicle as an essential function.
- Required: Experience level determined by position: Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years pharma/medical device; Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years pharma/medical device.
Preferred
- Experience with Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy distribution.
- Expertise in working with Payer Reimbursement Managers.
- Biologic/Rare Disease/Respiratory sales experience.
- Experience selling in IDN systems.
