Role Summary
Specialty Account Specialist - Respiratory - Columbia, SC or Charleston, SC. This role provides scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product, with focus on respiratory therapies and related market access considerations. The position involves developing account strategies, managing resources, and delivering product education while adhering to compliance guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
- Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and refer to appropriate resources for reimbursement and distribution decisions, following GSK guidelines and values.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of severe asthma therapeutics.
- Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
- Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values.
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Develop and implement customer-specific strategies within an account (e.g., Allergists, Pulmonologists, PA/NPs, Biologic Coordinators, Nurses, Office Managers).
- Build and maintain relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
- Effectively manage allocated resources (financial).
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to inquiries and needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to travel domestically as necessary, up to 30% overnight in some territories.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive or operate a vehicle as an essential function.
- The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience:
- Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
- Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
Skills
- Experience with specialty products and distribution models (Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy).
- Expertise in working with Payer Reimbursement Managers.
- Biologic/Rare Disease/Respiratory sales experience.
- Experience selling in IDN systems.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
Additional Requirements
- Travel up to 30% domestically as needed.
