Role Summary

Specialty Account Manager, Nephrology, New Jersey (Rare Disease) โ€šร„รฎ represents Amgen products to physicians and healthcare professionals, establishes product sales, and performs total territory account management focusing on patient-centered disease and product education for Rare Disease patients.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve assigned sales objectives through promotion of patient-centered disease and product education to HCPs while adhering to corporate compliance guidelines
  • Implement goals of the marketing plan through execution of strategic account business plan
  • Operate in a matrix environment with Case Managers, Medical Affairs, Patient access team, and others as needed
  • Utilize resources and programs including peer-to-peer education and cross-functional partners to address knowledge gaps
  • Navigate opportunities across academic institutions, IDNs, accountable care organizations, private practices, and community hospital systems
  • Establish productive relationships with local, regional, and national KOLs within the coverage area and therapeutic areas
  • Develop and maintain high-level disease and therapeutic clinical and scientific knowledge
  • Use consultative, technical, solution-oriented selling to meet needs of healthcare professionals and Rare Disease patients
  • Ensure compliance and corporate policy adherence with appropriate documentation and reporting

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Doctorate + 2 years of collective account management/sales/commercial experience
    • Or Masterโ€šร„รดs + 6 years of collective account management/sales/commercial experience
    • Or Bachelorโ€šร„รดs + 8 years of collective account management/sales/commercial experience
    • Or Associate degree + 10 years of collective account management/sales/commercial experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; graduate business or healthcare-related degree preferred
    • 7+ years in biotech, specialty pharmaceutical, or rare disease sales
    • 3+ years in Rare Disease/orphan drug experience; ultra-orphan preferred; Rare disease launch experience strongly preferred
    • Nephrology experience preferred
    • At least 3 years in in-office injection/infusion sales requiring coordination with patient access services
    • Experience operating in a matrix selling environment with patient services, market access, medical affairs, and reimbursement
    • Market development / deep profiling in rare, unmet spaces
    • Proven ability to educate HCPs about complex diseases across diverse patient profiles
    • Strong written and verbal communication; excellent organizational and analytical skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; professional, proactive demeanor; strong interpersonal skills
    • Travel: approximately 20-30%, including overnight and weekend commitments. Territory: South New Jersey, extending to Philadelphia and Lancaster, PA
