Role Summary
Specialty Account Manager located in Houston East. Drive new prescriptions for Halozyme products by educating, influencing, and selling to targeted specialties; maintain knowledge of conditions, managed care plans, and payer programs. Collaborate with diverse teams to deliver meaningful innovations that impact patients’ lives.
Responsibilities
- Deliver company-approved data and science-driven sales presentations to target prescribers and their office staff
- Apply segmentation data and other information to customize presentations to individual physicians
- Possess market, business, and product knowledge to engage in productive sales calls
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of managed health care plans and reimbursement policies to ensure access to Halozyme products
- Educate physicians and nurses on guiding patients to self-inject
- Educate physicians and staff on Halozyme product labels and partnerships
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience selling specialty pharmaceutical products (equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
- Knowledge of prescription pull-through tactics
- Ability to conduct sales calls, build rapport, interact while using electronic equipment, and make presentations to physicians, nursing staff, hospital administration, payers, insurers, health-care providers, peers and co-workers
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to travel as necessary or required, including overnight and/or weekend travel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
