Role: Specialist in Plant Automation, OT Infrastructure, Controls & Industrial Automation supporting regulated research, pilot plant, and GMP manufacturing environments. Objectives: lead and support automation, process control, cybersecurity, and infrastructure initiatives to ensure reliable, compliant, and scalable plant operations. Responsibilities: design, implement, and maintain OT and IT infrastructure (networks, control systems, virtualization, cybersecurity); collaborate with engineering, automation, and vendor teams to develop technical solutions; troubleshoot and support automation systems; develop and maintain architecture documentation; drive continuous improvement of automation and infrastructure; support investigations, change management, and compliance activities. Requirements: 5+ years in automation engineering within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry; high school diploma required; strong knowledge of manufacturing automation platforms (e.g., DeltaV, SCADA, MES, PI Historian), industrial networking, virtualization (VMware), and cybersecurity; experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI, and control systems; familiarity with regulated computer systems, validation, and GxP standards; ability to lead multiple projects and partner across functions. Preferred: experience supporting GMP manufacturing, process automation, data integration, and automation technologies such as SCADA, MES, and cloud-connected solutions. High-value biopharma specifics include GMP manufacturing, biologics development, and clinical supplies in regulated environments. Work setup: hybrid in Rahway, NJ with support to other sites; no travel required.
