Packaging Responsibilities
- Provide input on selection of primary packaging material.
- Determine package images to support commercialization; lead shipping distribution strategy and coordinate shipping distribution studies (characterization/qualification testing of packaging systems).
- Author packaging specifications for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging; provide information for BLA/NDA/WMA/JNDA sections.
- Interface with internal Global Packaging Technology Operations and Packaging Site Operations; external Contract Manufacturing Operations and packaging component suppliers.
Education Minimum Requirement
- B.S. or higher in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Science; 2+ years relevant experience.
Required Experience and Skills
- Understanding of package development process and engineering principles.
- Strong scientific and risk-based thinking.
- Demonstrated collaborative partnership building.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong organization and ability to meet timelines.
- Ability to make rapid, disciplined decisions.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience in new product pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical development packaging.
