Solution Architect

Role Summary

Solution Architect responsible for ensuring architectural alignment with reference architecture and technology standards. Provide architectural expertise and technical direction for system development and integration, specializing in at least one architecture domain to design architectures that enhance Information Services/Information Technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design architectures and solution blueprints addressing business, application, data, and infrastructure requirements.
• Collaborate with Business Analysis and Solution Engineering to manage functional and technical requirements, including driving software selection processes.
• Ensure architectures and designs meet business, application, information, and infrastructure requirements.
• Architect and design comprehensive solutions aligned with Enterprise Architecture to support a portfolio.
• Partner with project managers, business analysts, and solution engineers to create solutions that adhere to architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial targets.
• Evaluate and select solutions, make buy vs. build decisions, and contribute to early-phase project estimates for the business case.
• Provide technical and IT expertise to project teams and conduct architectural reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with EA guidelines and EA Software Standards.
• Contribute to developing, implementing, and maintaining standard architectural components.
• Work with third-party suppliers and contribute to design documents.
• Verify that technical development and delivery with third-party suppliers adheres to the Architecture Roadmap, Blueprint, and Information Services Strategy.
• Document all architecture analysis and design work.
• Develop mastery in at least one architecture domain and contribute to the Architecture Capability within Information Services by sharing knowledge and best practices with peers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in solutions architecture, software development, or a related IT field.
• Bachelor‚Äôs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven development/design experience in at least one technical domain.
• Experience developing innovative solutions, blueprints, and standards for solution design.
• Experience implementing and maintaining business solution architectures under formal frameworks for their domain.
• Experience developing and managing relationships with third-party suppliers.
• Strong networking skills with internal/external connections.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead teams and translate technical information into business language.
• Awareness of marketplace developments relevant to the domain focus and potential impact on AZ IS.
• Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a team of solution architects; set objectives and performance expectations; mentor team members; conduct performance reviews.
• Ability to foster collaboration, manage conflicts, and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
