Software Engineer III

Role: Software Engineer III responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications supporting Natera's genetic lab operations. Objectives include optimizing workflows, building innovative operational tools, and ensuring reliable data processing of genetic tests. Responsibilities: collaborate with engineering to make technical decisions, define requirements with stakeholders, develop sustainable applications, and improve development practices. The role involves handling Protected Health Information (PHI) and requires compliance with HIPAA and security protocols. Qualifications: BS in computer science or related field, 5+ years of software development experience; preferred skills include Java, Spring Framework, web services (REST), relational databases, and front-end frameworks (React/Angular). Additional knowledge in workflow orchestration (Temporal), messaging (Kafka), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, testing frameworks, and AI tools enhances candidacy. Experience in healthcare IT is a plus. Knowledge of core languages, API design, and collaboration tools is essential. Work setup is remote within the USA, with no specified travel. The role supports Natera's work in cell-free DNA testing across oncology, women’s health, and organ health sectors, contributing to innovative genetic diagnostics and personalized medicine.
