SMA Family Access Manager - Austin/San Antonio, TX

Role: Family Access Manager (FAM) specializing in rare diseases, serving as the patient-facing expert and liaison to support therapy access and adherence. Responsibilities: support patients/families through education, navigate non-clinical barriers, coordinate with internal teams (Case Management, Market Access, Reimbursement), and advocate for patients in cross-functional meetings; develop solutions for insurance and reimbursement issues, and build patient advocacy networks. Qualifications: 5+ years in healthcare or biotech, with at least 3 years in field-based roles such as account management, sales, or reimbursement; experience with physician-administered biologics and outpatient sites preferred; strong understanding of payer policies, reimbursement, and non-profit engagement; BS degree required, master’s preferred. High-Value: rare disease portfolio, patient access, reimbursement, healthcare system navigation, field-based role, travel (~60%), bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
