Role Summary

The Shipping/Receiver Coordinator is the shift lead responsible for scheduling activities and coordinating the distribution of raw materials to plant departments and finished goods to external customers while ensuring all deliveries are correct and on time. Works closely with Manufacturing and Quality to ensure materials are received and delivered as required and promptly addresses problems to prevent interruptions in operations or customer deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Distribution/Warehouse Supervisor in warehouse operations and logistics. Acts on behalf of the supervisor in their absence.
  • Performs assessments of schedules/customer orders, prioritizes activities, and makes assignments to meet customer demands. Continuously monitors team performance to ensure daily requirements are met.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert and shift lead for executing finished goods SAP serialization/aggregation processes to ensure inventory accuracy and shipment configurations meet customer and regulatory requirements (Drug Security Supply Chain Act).
  • Responsible for accessing inventory of needed operational supplies to ensure adequate materials are available to support departmental demands and notify supervision concerning re-stocking requirements.
  • Leads reviewing procedural revisions with team members and ensures all team members are qualified for their tasks; assists in onboarding of new employees regarding training/qualification and familiarization with processes.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills to effectively interact with others inside and outside the warehouse and represents the warehouse organization.
  • Assists in problem resolution, inventory discrepancies, and failure analysis; acts as a resource to evaluate and implement actions relating to system and process discrepancies.
  • Monitors warehouse equipment and facilities to ensure safety, compliance, and proper operation; submits work requests for repairs as identified.
  • Monitors incoming materials for batch number confirmation and proper receipt into SAP inventory; coordinates with QCME on sampling and inspection details.
  • Ensures materials with special handling/storage requirements are properly and safely managed.
  • Coordinates raw material handling activities for shipments and receipts with off-site 3PLs.
  • Oversees processes for handling quarantined/rejected materials and disposal of nonconforming or obsoleted materials.
  • Leads staging and shipping of frozen plasma intermediates through interplant transfers and customer orders to external recipients.
  • Should be able to perform and be qualified in duties assigned to the Senior Shipper/Receiver in the Warehouse/Logistics organization.

Qualifications

  • Must pass a Security Threat Analysis by TSA and complete the California Board of Pharmacy course.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in the work state and meet Grifols Fleet Program driver criteria (including a 5-year MVR history).
  • Requires basic computer skills; ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly; prolonged standing; overtime on short notice; ability to perform basic math functions.

Education

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of related warehouse experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to chemicals; requires ability to bend, kneel, crawl; operate forklifts and power equipment; PPE required; noise and temperature considerations in cold rooms.
