Role: Controls Shift Engineer focused on designing, developing, and maintaining automation and control systems within Alcon's manufacturing operations. Responsibilities: lead complex tasks involving instrumentation, electrical, and automation controls; apply mathematical modeling, control theory, and advanced engineering principles to optimize system performance and reliability; support manufacturing through system configuration, troubleshooting, and operational improvements; ensure compliance with GxP regulations via SOP adherence and documentation; evaluate advancements in automation technologies for continuous improvement. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (high school +8 years or associate +4 years); strong English communication skills; willingness to work on a 12-hour night shift (6 PM-6 AM EST) with minimal travel (0-5%); onsite work location. Preferred: experience with Mechatronics, Beckhoff/TwinCAT, Structured Text programming, PLCs, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
