Shift Controls Engineer (Night Shift)

Role: Controls Shift Engineer within Alcon's Engineering team, focusing on designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation and control systems in a manufacturing environment. Objectives: enhance operational efficiency, system reliability, and compliance with GxP regulations through advanced automation solutions. Responsibilities: lead complex projects related to instrumentation, electrical, and automation controls; apply mathematical modeling and control theory to optimize system performance; troubleshoot and support manufacturing automation; ensure adherence to regulatory standards and SOPs; evaluate new automation technologies for continuous improvement. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (minimum 8 years in related fields or 4 years with an associate’s); strong electrical troubleshooting skills; experience with Beckhoff/TwinCAT systems, Structured Text, PLCs, and mechatronics preferred; excellent communication in English; onsite work; 36-48 hours weekly on rotating night shifts; minimal travel (0-5%).
