Role Summary

Senior Vice President, Head of Global Innovative Medicines will lead a matrixed team responsible for innovative medicines, drive the development strategy and oversee evidence-generating activities across interventional and observational programs. The role shapes market position, regulatory interactions, and access and reimbursement, with responsibilities to advance the pipeline, grow in-market products, and defend late life cycle products. Based at West Chester, PA with possible flexibility to Parsippany, NJ or remote for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Setting the overarching R&D Innovative Medicines vision and strategy across Immunology & Neuroscience.
  • Managing and evolving the Integrated Development Committee (IDC) and portfolio decision-making processes.
  • Interface with internal senior leadership across R&D and Teva.
  • Drive portfolio expansion in partnership with business development teams.
  • Interface externally with global key opinion leaders on scientific and clinical developments related to drug development.
  • Communicate with regulators; guide presentations to Advisory Committees and respond to regulatory inquiries including milestone development meetings.
  • Develop and articulate Teva’s mission to diverse audiences at scientific meetings and publications.
  • Design innovative clinical trial concepts to improve timelines and reduce costs.
  • Develop development strategies for compounds and manage execution of development plans.
  • Optimize clinical trials for safety, cost, efficacy, and endpoints; accelerate pipeline progression.
  • Ensure patient safety processes in trials are followed; identify signals and respond appropriately.
  • Manage matrixed teams, empower and guide teams, and optimize working methods.
  • Build a best-in-class innovative development organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent.

Qualifications

  • MD or MD/PhD in a relevant biomedical or life sciences field.
  • Minimum of 15 years in pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D with a track record in innovation-driven initiatives.
  • Proven leadership of high-performing, cross-functional teams in a global matrix environment.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Results-oriented with clear expectations, prioritization, and ability to drive initiatives to completion.
  • Entrepreneurial leader capable of leading key initiatives and aligning teams around priorities.
  • Strong strategic planning, creativity, and risk-taking with a global perspective and cross-cultural adaptability.
  • Credible scientific reputation with understanding of product science, IP, and applying market knowledge to strategic fit.
  • Global orientation and excellent collaboration, consensus-building, and influence skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities; effective in meetings and follow-up.
  • High integrity and alignment with company culture and values.
