Job Title: Senior Vice President, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer

Responsibilities:
- Develop, evolve, and administer Gilead’s global ethics and compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Define global ethics and compliance strategy with GLT and senior management; identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks while supporting long-term growth.
- Serve as trusted strategic advisor to the GLT on Global Compliance Program development and implementation.
- Evolve the Compliance function using innovative tools (AI, digital platforms, predictive analytics) to enable proactive, data-driven risk mitigation.
- Assess and strengthen Compliance organization effectiveness, operating model, governance, and talent capabilities.
- Lead enterprise-wide compliance risk assessment and monitoring; recommend policy/governance/procedure changes as needed.
- Provide leadership, escalation, and reporting on compliance matters to the CEO, General Counsel, GLT, Board committees, and Compliance Committee.
- Conduct required compliance risk assessments; implement mitigation actions and communicate findings with action plans.
- Maintain and update policies for healthcare, data privacy (HIPAA/EU GDPR), transparency, anticorruption/anti-bribery, anti-fraud, and relevant industry/regulatory guidance.
- Drive ethics and compliance training content and ensure global training implementation.
- Oversee Helpline testing/follow-up and routine monitoring/auditing; develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Build and lead a world-class compliance organization; strengthen talent, succession planning, and foster an inclusive high-performing culture.

Qualifications/Experience (Ideal Experience):
- 15+ years of compliance and industry experience; 15+ years supporting large global pharmaceutical companies.
- Juris Doctor (or equivalent international degree) preferred; active Bar Association membership or equivalent body.
- International experience; strong knowledge of US and global regulatory landscapes (China, Europe, Japan).
- Therapeutic area expertise (virology, oncology, inflammation) and experience bringing products to market globally.
- Proven track record building best-in-class ethics/compliance programs and SOPs; experience with AI-enabled tools and data-driven compliance.
- Experience partnering with GLT and Board; manage stakeholder engagement (internal and external).
- Legal/compliance breadth beyond compliance; experience working with Commercial organization of a global pharmaceutical company.
