Market Access
Responsibilities:
- Execute institutional and field access strategy for assigned geography/portfolio.
- Educate clinic/institution stakeholders on reimbursement dynamics, patient support services, distribution model, and payer requirements.
- Partner with Sales Account Managers, Clinical Coordinators, and Patient Support Services Hub to enable HCP patient access; lead proactive internal touchpoints for account planning.
- Conduct/monitor complex Benefits Investigations; educate on Prior Authorization and monitor PA processes.
- Liaise between Patient Support Services Hub and clinics to educate providers on patient support programs.
- Provide live 1:1 education to HCPs/office staff on coverage requirements and PA processes.
- Support complex patient access issues while maintaining compliance.
- Champion compliance/ethical standards; mentor junior team members.
- Analyze payer trends and institutional feedback; inform strategic adjustments and escalation for challenging cases.
- Educate HCPs/office staff/institutions on payer policies, common PA delays/denials, and appeal processes.
- Review escalated patient cases; scan payer policies tailored to clinics and provide updates.
- Travel up to 50% as needed; represent team at national meetings.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 7+ years pharma/healthcare (preferably 5+ years access/reimbursement); Bachelorβs degree.
- Proven HCP/office support for access/reimbursement requiring payer support.
- Experience with both βbuy and billβ and Specialty Pharmacy distribution for specialty oral/injectables.
- Strong payer environment knowledge (government/commercial, AOB/LOA, accumulators/maximizers, manufacturer patient support).
- Strong communication and collaboration in a matrixed environment.
- HIPAA/OIG/ad boards & promotion/Anti-Kickback compliance knowledge.
- Strong planning/organization; MS Office.
- Rare disease, specialty, and launch experience.
Preferred:
- Salesforce.com; REMS; limited distribution products.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills; detail-oriented; ability to travel overnight; schedule and may use own car.
- Technical healthcare knowledge (billing codes, appeals, etc.).
- Bilingual highly desirable; nursing experience a plus.
